Bookworm

I saw this meme on Kat's blog, and I thought it was pretty interesting. Because I'm not completely done with the Tuesday Tackle I was working on yesterday (should finish tonight), I thought this would be a good idea for today's post. It's all about BOOKS!

1. One book that changed your life.
The Bible. Ever since I rediscovered Christ about a year and a half ago I've been working to try to realign my life based on how He wants us to live. I don't succeed at every turn for sure, but there's a concerted effort there that wasn't before. I also love the hope and good news that the Bible gives us.

2. One book that you have read more than once.
Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maude Montgomery. I love that "Anne girl"! She's so fiesty, has a great imagination, and doesn't let anything hold her down.

3. One book you would want on a desert island.
A very thick notebook (and a pen) so I can write down observations and things I've learned. Also so I can come up with some sort of contraption to throw notes out to sea without them getting wet/ruined so someone can rescue me.

4. Two books that made you laugh.
Love and Marriage and Kids Say the Darndest Things, both by Bill Cosby. I don't know why that man makes me laugh so much, but he does.

5. One book that made you cry.
Can You Feel My Tears? by Lauri Merrow. It's the book my mom wrote about my stepfather's aneurysm that he had when I was 11. When I read it after she published it (mostly to make sure they didn't print any glaring errors for her, very small publisher) it was very hard to relive the experience, and read more about the things he went through. I was so young I didn't realize a lot of what went on.

6. One book you wish you’d written.
None. There's reasons people write books, and I sell airplane parts. I'd like to leave it to the experts.

7. One book you wish had never been written.
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. Hands down the most boring book I have ever been forced to read. I have never read another Dickens book since, even though I've heard there are some awesome ones out there.

8. Two books you are currently reading.
I'm currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and it's awesome so far. I've learned if I try to read 2 books at once I lose track of one or the other, so I'm only reading one.

9. Two books you’ve been meaning to read.
Sacred Cows Make the Best Burgers and The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers. There are actually a lot more than that, but it said to only pick two.

There you go! What are your thoughts on books you're reading?
