Another Interview

Another interview - this time by my friend Maria G. If anyone would like to be interviewed, just leave a comment like before.

What do you consider the best place in the area to get ice cream?
This one is easy for me. I think that the best place in the area to get ice cream in Findeisen’s. I know a lot of people out there are going to disagree with me, and maybe I only like them because of old memories, but it’s Findeisen’s.

Now that you are married, has anyone been pestering you about when you are going to start a family?
Only my mother-in-law, who on my wedding day looked at me and said “Nine months, One day.” My parents are very low key and in no rush to have grandkids. Other family members seem to be minding their own business.

What is your favorite kind of game: board game or card game?
I’m a huge fan of either, though some of my most favorite games are indeed card based. Skip-Bo, 45’s, Rummy 500, and Apples to Apples are all based on cards. Now I wanna play 45’s. I haven’t played it since Christmas 2005 with my parents and brother down in TN, where they probably have never even heard of the game.

What does your dream house look like? Any must-haves?
My dream house has 3-4 bedrooms, a finishable basement, a good-sized yard (big enough for a pool and space to have wiffleball/kickball/badminton games), and a farmer’s porch. Other than that I’m breezy about the rest. Those are really my only requirements.

Do you call your in-laws by their first names? If so, did you always feel comfortable addressing them that way?
Uh… is it weird that I don’t really call them anything? Steve's the same way with my parents too. Well, my mom anyways. My dad is Steve, so that's different. Too many Steves.

Side note: Please say a quick prayer for our fish Pinky who passed away this morning. She was a good fish and has now gone up to the big tank in the sky. R.I.P. Pinky, we'll miss your happy swimming in our tank. :(

Interview!

1. What was the first thing you did when you got home from your Honeymoon?
We chatted with the Seeds for a few minutes. Then we took our Rum Creme out of the duty free boxes and put it in our "liquor cabinet". I know, very unexciting, but when you just walk in the door at 11:00 PM from a week in Jamaica there's not much else to do. Not long after that we brushed our teeth and went to bed.

2. Who is your favorite television/movie character and why?
Hands down, it's The Genie from Aladdin. I love that he was a stand-up guy who would do anything for his friends, and was totally honest. He had a great sense of humor even in the toughest of situations and was loyal. He stood by Aladdin's side in all 3 of the movies (even if the 2nd and 3rd were terrible).

3. What was the last thing that made you blush?
Honest to goodness I can't remember. It's been a while. :)

4. Who gave you your favorite piece of jewelry?
My husband did, of course! My favorite piece of jewelry is my engagement ring. It has so much meaning behind it, besides the fact that I was totally and completely surprised with the same exact ring I had wanted my whole life (yes, I had zero input into picking it out).

5. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Healing. I hate seeing people suffer, so if I have to have a superpower it may as well be something that can do lots and lots of good.

1. If you had to have your forearm cut off and you could have any tool or device attached in its place what would you pick and why? (You cannot choose a fake arm.)
Wow. Interesting question. I think that I would need some sort of Inspector Gadget contraption, you know "Go Go Gadget Arm". One of those arms that has everything in it. I'm way too self-sufficient to not have use of the arm in some capacity, and if I had a Gadget Arm, that would rock. Now I want one anyways, even though I still have my arm intact.

2. You have been given the gift to erase one event from history that has happened in your lifetime. What event do you pick and what would be the difference in the world if this event had never taken place?
I think that I would erase the OJ Simpson case. I think that it helped to accelerate the media-ization of celebrity legal issues. That's not to say that it wouldn't have happened with some other case, but it might not have happened as quickly as it did. Plus, the whole thing in my opinion made a mockery of the legal system in general. WHY was there not a leather expert in the room to remind everyone that if that glove was soaked in blood it WOULD NOT HAVE FIT because it WOULD HAVE SHRUNK. I think that it caused a bit of distrust in the legal system because it's so obvious that he did it. I would rather just erase the whole.... thing.

3. You are getting married very soon-write a haiku about how the wedding planning experience has been so far.
Through all the chaos
And planning, I see a smile
And remember why.

(I think that was 17 syllables... I was never good at haikus.)

4. Through Greg’s blog I’ve learned that you share my love for all things Disney. What is your most favorite thing in The World to do or see and why?

Oooh. Very good question. I have a few, to be honest, across all 4 of the parks at WDW. But, I have to say that I absolutely love just about all things Epcot. Steve and I did two days there last time I was down just because we love it so much. That said, my aboslute favorite thing to do is about midway through a day at Epcot I like to grab a beverage (maybe a tea from the UK or a cappucino from France) and park it in the Canadian pavillion for a performance by "Off Kilter". I have this weird obsession with bagpipes - and they have bagpipes & kilts mixed with Rock & Roll. I don't think it gets much better than that. After they are done performing their set I can continue with the rest of my day.

5. If you were only allowed to repeat one sentence for the rest of your life, what would that sentence be? (You could say it as often as you wanted).
I think that I would choose to say "I Love You". Because, you can have many different kinds of love in your life and most other things can be expressed by body language. Love is different, and it's good to hear an "I Love You" once in a while.
