Thursday

It's Thursday, which means that...

- I'm in day 2 of Six Sigma training and therefore won't have much time for blogging. Not that I should be blogging at work anyways. Who does that? ;)

- Mags will be posting her Top Chef recipe from last week as well as a new poll.

- Greg should be posting his weekly questions.

- I've posted my progress for my other endeavor.

I know... Thursdays rock, don't they? :)

To Entertain Yourself

Super busy at work today, and not much to write about except Nana kicked my ass in Skip-Bo last night. SO - entertain yourself with the blogs in my sidebar, but specifically:

- I did update my "Yellie Gets Skinnier" before work this morning.

- Steve finally updated... what entertaining psuedo-lies is he telling now: Steve: Inspired by a True Story

- Greg's got new questions up at We're Taking Bets That...

- Mags will tell you what to cook! Modified "Top Chef" this week, but you have to submit no later than 4:00 PM today. I'm to make Raspberry Beer Chicken.

A Plea for a Favor

Dear Blog Readers,

I've started a new blog and I'd like for you to also check it daily. I'm going to have 2 blogs, with 2 different purposes.

1) This blog, which will remain as my main blog and won't change as you know and love it.

2) My new blog (the link for your reference is http://yelliegetsskinny.blogspot.com), which will serve as a means for me to track my weight loss from my current weight to 47 pounds less than what my current weight is now.

I've been feeling gross lately. I don't want it to get my self-esteem down, which will put me in this weird Fat Bastard cycle that I'd like to avoid if I can. I'd also like to get healthy for Steve and our future family. I don't want to be that fat mom who can't do anything at soccer practice besides stand there all out of breath. Never mind the benefits to avoid heart disease and diabetes - both of which run in my family. And various forms of arthritis, which can be prevented with exercise. It's really important to me that I lose weight and get healthy for any number of reasons, so here goes nothing...

Again. Hopefully for good this time.

So that's that. Thanks for reading!

You are getting sleepy...

Yesterday and today I've been in Six Sigma training. This training we're covering a LOT of basic statistics, which I've already taken. 3 times. In fact, the last time I took it I got an A. Needless to say, I've been a bit bored and not paying the full attention, which I should be.

As a result of this, I don't have much to say. Mostly because my brain has been zapped. I sit towards the back because that way I don't have to turn my neck to see the board (and as a result don't get neck cricks). The people that sit back here tend to be the first ones to get punchy towards the end of the day, which keeps things interesting. Since today is day 2, it means we're REALLY going to be punchy.

I am looking forward to the 3 girly events I have coming up in the next month and a half. A Henning, an afternoon tea, and a Stitch-N'-Bitch. Should all be great times. I also want to get to the beach once this summer for the day, though I'm not quite sure when I'll be able to fit that in. We'll see!

Anyways... sorry I'm not terribly interesting today. I'm a bit sleepy. A few reminders though...

1. Don't forget to head over to Maggie's blog and vote for her top chef ingredients today. She's got a dessert theme this week!

2. Check into Greg's blog for his Thursday questions.

3. Not so much a reminder, but Mags also introduced me to this website yesterday called Good Reads. If you're a reader, you should check it out because it's really neat. At least I think anyways. The link is over on my sidebar, so go check it out.

Hope you're all having a happy Thursday!

Thursdays - Interactive Blogs!

Most of my favorite blogs are listed on the left on the sidebar. Hopefully you've all clicked on them once or twice and given my friends a few more readers. However, on Thursdays there are two of friends' blogs that are interactive, and I just want to encourage my reader-nation (all... 10 of you, or whatever) to take a spin over to their blogs and help them out on Thursdays.

The first is my friend Greg's blog (We're Taking Bets That...). Every Thursday Greg asks his readers 3 questions and asks them to give their responses in the comment section. This is the highlight of my Thursday (super serious!) and I get disappointed when Greg is unable to get to his blog for this weekly survey. It's always neat to see Greg's answers in the post, and then the answers of all of his readers in the comments. Head on over and take a glance - this week's questions aren't "hot button" issues, so this is a great week to try it out if you haven't before.

The other blog that is interactive is new to the Thursday "to-do" list. I read Mags' blog (Ms. Maggie Moo Talks 2 U) on a pretty regular basis. Last week, she began a weekly "Top Chef" blog that allows her readers to vote for 4 ingredients that she will then use to create a dish over the weekend. Last week she made a tasty looking dish with sausages, peppers, pasta, and goat cheese (those were the 4 ingredients). She posts the recipe she creates along with pictures after she's completed, so that's great because then the readers get to a) see what she did and b) try it for themselves. So take a spin over to Mags' blog and participate in her "Top Chef" poll!

And if you're just in for a little entertainment... head over to my hubby's blog (Steve - Inspired by a True Story). He doesn't update it that often, but his stories are pretty entertaining when he does. :)

OK, I'm done giving my friends free plugs now.
